Barangay Mechanism: The Barangay Literacy Coordinating Council

There shall be an established Barangay Literacy Coordinating Council (BLCC) in every barangay in the country. The BLCC shall be chaired by the Barangay Captain/ Punong Barangay and co-chaired by the School Principal, and with the following as Members: Barangay Kagawad Chairpersons of the Committee on Education; Committee on Health and Sanitation; Committee on Peace and Order; Committee on Finance; Committee on Clean and Green; Committee on Public Works; and Committee on Ways and Means.

A Secretariat may be organized to handle documentation and other program support functions.
