City Mechanism: The City Literacy Coordinating Council

There shall be an established City Literacy Coordinating Council (CLCC) in every city of the country. The CLCC shall be chaired by the City Mayor and co-chaired by the Schools Division Superintendent, and with the following as Members:

• Sanggunian Member Chairpersons of the Committee on Education, Committee on Health, Committee on Peace and Order, and Committee on Finance;
• Officers of the City Planning and Development Office, and City Local Government Operations Office; and
• Department Heads of the City Social Welfare and Development, and City Health Office.

A Secretariat may be organized to handle documentation and other program support functions.
