The LCC Secretariat, together with the Technical Working Group (TWG) Members, discussed the initial findings on the submitted entries for the “Call for Research on Literacy” relative to the conduct of the 2019 National Literacy Conference (NLC) to be held on September 3-6, 2019 in Iloilo City. Dr. Heidi B. Macahilig, PNU representative, presided over the LCC body on selecting qualified research papers incorporating to the concepts of the theme, “Aligning 21st Century Literacies to Industry 4.0 through Research” to be presented on the said conference during the sixth plenary session facilitated by the Philippine Normal University (PNU). They also discussed the technicalities relative to the specifications of the papers for exhibit, identifying the number of entries to be considered for oral presentation and exhibit, and other relative matters regarding the proper conduct of the activity. The pre-selected entries were given a schedule for final revisions to improve their papers either for oral presentation or exhibit, ensuring to input pertinent literacy policies aligning with the current theme.
The said planning meeting was held on July 29, 2019 at the Bureau of Curriculum Development (BCD) Conference Room, Bonifacio Building, DepEd Central Office.
